Updates from the Principal

Dear Families of Spicewood,

It is hard to believe that we are starting 4th week of school! Time has been flying by and things are beginning to settle down here at Spicewood. There are some important events and dates coming up that I would like to share with you.

Meet the Faces of Spicewood- Principal’s Blog
I have been thinking about ways to introduce our teachers and employees to the community. I decided to feature 2 employees each week on my blog. This will eventually cover every employee at Spicewood, including teachers, staff, custodians, cafeteria staff and etc. It is my hope that our families and community members get to know the faces of Spicewood. Please be sure to follow my blog at I will also continue to update the newsletter as well as other stories and reflections.

Breakfast with Dad hosted by WatchDOGS
There will be a Breakfast with Dad event hosted by the WatchDOGS (Dads Of Great Students) of Spicewood in the library this Wednesday, September 18 starting at 7:15AM. Any father/father figure can join us with their child(ren). Spicewood encourages all fathers/father figures to be visibly involved in our school community. Students will be dismissed to their classroom at 7:45AM.

Fathers/Father figures can volunteer all day or part of the day to provide help in various areas of need at Spicewood. If you would like to inquire about signing up for a specific Friday, please contact our teacher liaison, Jennifer Dower ( Sign-up sheets will be available at the Breakfast with Dad this Wednesday in the library as well.
