Meet the Faces of Spicewood #47: Devlin Ready

Dear all,

Here's the second employee of the week. I'd like to introduce to you all, Mrs. Devlin Ready, one of our fabulous 2nd grade teachers.

Mrs. Ready was born in Hondo, Texas- a little west of San Antonio. This is also her 13th year at Spicewood just like Mrs. Otto who was featured just before Mrs. Ready. Mrs. Ready and her husband decided to move to Austin to start their business years ago and raise their family. Mrs. Ready has five members in her family: One daughter who works for PwC in Houston, another daughter who works for MD Anderson also in Houston and a son who works here in Austin with her husband. Mrs. Ready's career history is so very diverse; she has taught PE, 1st through 6 grades and been an interventionist as well. She's worked in Waco ISD, Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD, Pflugerville ISD and Round Rock ISD- total of 30 years in teaching career! Her favorite food is shrimp. Sky blue is her favorite color. She loves reading historical fictions.

"I love the kids and the families. It is my community!" claimed Mrs. Ready. Mrs. Ready believes that  everyone works together to ensure success for each and every child at Spicewood. "You can do anything you dream as a career. Work hard, play hard and believe!" said Mrs. Ready to our students.

When I visited Mrs. Ready's classroom this past week, our students were working on Mother's Day letters and cards. I'm sure all the moms truly enjoyed all the heartfelt cards our kids presented to them  this weekend. :) Mrs. Ready has magical ways to guide and engage our students in their own learning. She not only connects with students but also builds great relationships with parents to offer words of wisdom and guidance.  We're so very lucky to have a teacher whose dedication and passion truly impacts our students and families.
